If you’re one of those anticipating the release of Inye 2, we are hearing that the tablet is due for release end of March.

The Encipher Inye 2 tablet, we’ve also learned, is coming with some cool features and specs that puts it somewhat at par with tablets such as Motorola’s Xoom, dubbed the iPad’s first real rival by the Wall Street journal.

Here are some of the likely features and specs to expect from the Inye 2.

Processor

There are indications that Encipher’s Inye 2 might come with a Tegra 2 Duo Core Processor with 1Ghz, same processor used by Motorola’s Xoom and the Samsung Galaxy S II.

If this is the case, Inye 2 will be one of the best tablets in the world running on a super-powerful dual-core processor.

Operating System

No doubt, the Inye 2 will be running on the Android platform. But what is news is that, Inye 2 will likely come with Android 2.2 (Froyo) with an option to upgrade to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) or Android 3.0 (Honeycomb).

Size

We’ve also learned that Inye 2 would come in two sizes: 8inch and 10inch models.

The Inye 2 will have a capacitive screen, just like the iPad and similar tablets. It would also be slimmer and lighter than Inye 1.

Storage

With a 4GB internal memory and an SD card storage that would likely take up to 32GB memory card, the Inye 2 would also support an internal SIM module, bluetooth, GPS, and a camera.

Price

With all of these exciting new features and specs, it is expected that the Inye 2 will be a bit expensive.

While we’re not sure what Inye 2 would cost, it is likely that it would sell for between $499 (about N75,000) and $599 (about N90,000), given its expected specs and features as compared with other android tablets.

Note: Encipher is offering a 20% discount on the Inye 2, if you purchase the Inye 1 now.

It is also likely that the Inye 2 will come with 3G data plans bundled for free for a period.

Thoughts

My guess is that Encipher hopes to try out different devices for different classes of people and with kickass specs.

I think this is a great idea, especially as people would always have different preferences.

While we await the release of the Inye 2, there are strong indications that the device will be ground-breaking and worth the investment.

From all indications, the Inye 2 seems to be one of those highly anticipated android tablets.

Will the Inye 2 live up to our expectations? Will it impress or dissapoint?

Only time will tell.
