Nigerian Software Developer Invited to SXSW 2011
A Nigeria software developer has received an invitation to attend the SXSW event in Austin, Texas, next month.
Sheriff Shittu, 25, developed a traffic monitoring tool that won the award for ‘Best Application’ at the AppCircus competition at Mobile Web West Africa recently.
Apparently, the award gave Shittu the opportunity to participate at SXSW, as he confirmed in a twitter update.
South by Southwest (SXSW) is a private company dedicated to building and delivering conference and festival events for entertainment and related media industry professionals.
This year’s event is scheduled to hold from March 11 – 20 and features conferences and festivals in music, film and interactive media.
Shittu’s participation at the event is important for Nigerian tech entrepreneurs who are looking to build relationships with global entrepreneurs, attract investors for their web companies and scale globally.
