Glo Connect: Globacom’s Facebook App

Globacom, Nigeria’s second largest mobile operator recently introduced a new service called Glo Connect that lets their subscribers and customers to interact with their friends, families and loved ones via Facebook.
Glo Connect is a service that allows Glo subscribers use SMS and MMS to update their Facebook profile status, post on walls, find friends upload pictures and much more directly from your Glo mobile phone.
What are the features?
Glo Connect lets you:
- Post updates on your Facebook profile
- Post on friend’s walls on Facebook
- Post your pictures on Facebook via MMS
- View Glo’s up-coming events
- Search for friends on Facebook
- View friends and loved one’s comments
Globacom is not the first Nigerian telecoms company to use social media tools such as Facebook. In October, Starcomms announced a new feature called Facebook on Starcomms. However, GloConnect is absolutely free of charge compared to the N8 naira per SMS charge that Starcomms offers for each Facebook status update you send.
Perhaps that’s because GloConnect is a “special introductory offer!”
