I agree, which makes No. 3 to 5 very critical factors. In fact they should be No. 1 on that list, except that power and infrastructure pose the major challenge in Nigeria.

While location is very important to any start-ups, I believe access to quality "knowledge bank" is much more important. So, I believe that a start-up hub should placed in location that is easily accessible by the University community and the VC community.

So where would you suggest is the best place to create a start-up hub? I'm already doing a post on that and should be published in a few days.

Great piece. It is becoming clearer that we cannot afford to wait for the Nigerian Government to get its act together. We need to start actively thinking about what individuals can do to move the country forward.

@Niyyie & Loy,
While I believe that Government has a lot to place in achieving this, I still believe that the bulk of the responsibility lies on people like you and me. We can start on a small scale and the expand. If you have an idea of what to to do, build a team that is committed to the course and launch. Capital is a major factor though but I believe we can work around it too.

So, my suggestion is simple...let's get to work on our idea and focus on what WE CAN CHANGE
