Sowambe Awards aims to recognize the best social media adopters, talents, agencies, celebrities, politicians, personalities and professionals as well as social media-based web platforms in Africa.
After about three weeks of nominations from the public and a rigorous editorial judgment process for the best social media talents, acts and brands in Nigeria, the organizers of Sowambe Awards have officially released the full list of nominees for Sowambe Awards 2010.

During the editorial judging process, some categories were removed due to the fact that they did not make up 5 nominees per category.
Again, some categories were adjusted to cater for larger nominations. For example, ‘Best Use of Facebook’ was divided into two: Personal Brands and Corporate Brands.
