Pagatech’s CEO Tayo Oviosu to Speak at Tech4Africa Conference

Tayo Oviosu, a leading expert in M&A and private equity investment opportunites in Africa will be speaking at the inaugural Tech4Africa Conference in Johannesburg, August this year.
Tayo founded Pagatech in April 2009 with a vision to enable a cashless society and bank the unbanked in Africa. In a continent where there are more mobile users than computers, it makes sense to enable payment via mobile devices.
Oviosu’s participation in the event is of paramount importance to Nigeria as Pagatech would be launching its mobile payments service, Paga, in Nigeria in Q4 2010 and has plans to expand Paga beyond the Nigerian market. Paga was featured on Memeburn as one of the hottest innovations to watch in 2010.
The event, organised by Technovated, will bring international experience and perspective to the African continent and provide a rare opportunity to learn first hand from local and international speakers about the role that mobile, web and emerging technologies have to play in African business and development.
Oviosu joins a stellar line-up of international speakers – including leaders from companies such as Twitter, Mozilla, WordPress and Yahoo! – and African technologists from organizations such as PesaPal, Ushahidi, Obami and many more.
The event is targeted at business professionals and technologists from businesses of all sizes, from entrepreneurs and start-up owners through to professionals working at large organisations.
Tech4Africa runs from 12-13 August 2010 at The Forum in Bryanston. Workshops will be held on 10-11 August.
