With the current crop of Technology enthusiasts and entrepreneurs that are doing amazing things with no support from the government whatsoever, I am very confident that your dream of waking up in the not too distant future to hear of a Nigerian start-up being listed on the NYSE will be realised.

I think you shld check out Kaduna State. In my opinion, it is becoming one of the best places in Nigeria to do business, At least, the World Bank thinks so.

Nice post Loy!

It will be great to see a Naija version of Silicone Valley but first things first, as a nation we need to provide the basic infrastructure which of course is electricity. Once that is provided, the next step is the provision of broadband internet at a reasonable price point. These two will serve as an incentive for the general population to invest in a desktop/laptop. Without this many startups will fail due to lack of patronization.

On another note, what I would love to see is a payment portal of international standard within the country. This alone will change the game in the Naija IT industry.
